Hello future Gators,
As part of the state of Florida's 2+2 program, the University of Florida is an excellent place to continue your education. The University of Florida is ranked as the No. 6 public university in the country according to the U.S. News and World Report rankings. It is home to more than 120 different majors and approximately 55,000 students.
Below are some general admissions requirements for the University as well as some specific information regarding the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) (CALS). Home to and more than 6,000 students, CALS is the fourth largest UF college (note: 16 different colleges make up UF).

CALS TRANSFER RESOURCES

GENERAL UF TRANSFER ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Completed an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public institution or at least 60 transferable semester credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
- Show competency in a foreign language. You can do this by providing a high school transcript showing that you completed two years of the same foreign language OR by completing 8-10 semester hours of the same foreign language.
- Have a minimum 2.0 overall GPA and a minimum 2.0 GPA from your last attended institution, as calculated by UF (Note: a 2.0 GPA is not competitive for all majors). It is recommended that students research what a competitive GPA is for their intended major.
- Have completed or will complete specific course requirements (pre-requisite or critical tracking courses) for your intended major before attending UF. Each college website will have pre-requisite courses specific to their majors.
- You are in good standing and eligible to return to any institution previously attended.
